The Table (2011)

Released: 2011

Directed by Shane Free

Two friends bring home an antique table. As they are setting it up in the dining room, they discover a strange feature which leads to the unimaginable.

The Table tells a story about bad things happening to good people. Perhaps this is what makes the film so enjoyable. At a meager five minutes, this film establishes characters and a solid premise. This film begins with the mundane and quickly spirals out of control. As each second ticks, the tension builds. The audience feels overwhelmed and, in the end, aghast.

The Table is probably as good as it gets for a five minute short.

Rating: 8/10

This Film was screened at the 2012 Atlanta Horror Film Festival.

  1. Where can I find it? Is it part of a collection or posted online somewhere? I find that short horror films often scare the crap out of me much more effectively. I would like to be overwhelmed and aghast!

    1. Yes, I too find short horror films to be extremely effective. Would love to find this. YouTube carry it?

    2. It has recently been made available on Vimeo by the filmmaker:
