OUR RATING 5.0/5.0 CTHULHU'S

It is fun to be able to write a fresh perspective on a well known and beloved Cult Classic like The Lost Boys. But the truth is (and I am embarrassed to admit this) I had never actually seen this film until last night. Now I know what you are thinking, an admin of a Horror page should be an expert on the genre, and should have seen this film a long time ago. I admit, I have no excuses. However it does give me an opportunity to review it for the first time without having an already bias opinion. I loved it! I was highly entertained by this 80's gem.

Lost Boys is the story of the Emerson family. Michael (Jason Patric), his younger brother Sam (Corey Haim), and their mother Lucy (Diane Weist) have just relocated to Santa Carla, CA because of divorce. Michael becomes involved with an outlaw biker gang under the charismatic leadership of their leader David (Kiefer Sutherland). The rebellious group of teenage rebels turn out to be Vampires and seduce Michael into their brood.

In an attempt to save his brother, Sam enlists the aid of comic book enthusiasts and part time Vampire Hunters Edgar and Alan Frog (Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander). Plenty of action, adventure, screams and laughs ensue as this heroic threesome attempt to kill the Vampire leader and save the town of Santa Carla.

The Lost Boys is a richly entertaining film that has not lost a karat of its luster since the 1987 release. Not to mention one of the coolest group of Vampires that I have ever seen. I recommend it to all genre fans. If you are like me and not seen this movie. Then do yourself a favor and watch it tonight! You'll be glad you did.
