The Paranormal Activity franchise thrives on presenting audiences with something they have not seen before: a twist on the found footage style of filmmaking. By doing so, the films have a sense of realism that other supernatural films (including other found footage films of the genre, such as The Blair Witch Project) cannot accomplish.
The third entry into the franchise looks to expand upon the backstory, which is the element that brought many to see the slightly disappointing sequel. From the looks of the trailer, this film will be a vast improvement over the previous film and return audiences to the thrills and chills of the first. Though the series as a whole is far from excellent, this film looks to be quite entertaining.
